About The Team

At Murdoch University the Exams and Assessment Office is responsible for the administration of exams for all standard teaching periods across two campuses.

Your New Role



The Exams Invigilator is responsible for running of examinations in the designated venue as directed by the Exams and Assessment Office. Exams invigilator plays an important role in implementing the principles for conducting examination and providing a calm, stress-free and equitable environment for students to work to their optimum level. The role aims to provide students with positive exam experience in accordance with the examination procedures and policies.

Your key responsibilities will include –

* Collection, transportation and distribution of exam paper and documents safely and securely.

* Prepare, set up and pack up of examination materials in the examination venue.

* Ensure students are correctly identified and are attending the correct examination.

* Communicate key information and exam protocol to students.

* Monitor and invigilate students in compliance with the University's procedures.

* Report any examination incidents.

* Ensure all examination materials are collected, collated and securely returned to the Exams and Assessment Office.

* Attend compulsory training and information sessions.

Key Information (subject to change)

* Exam Start Times – 9am & 1:30pm, occasionally 5pm

* Exam Days – Monday to Friday, occasionally Saturday

* Exam Duration – 2 or 3 hours + 10 minutes reading time for most exams

This casual role attracts a competitive casual rate of $39.33 / hr inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% employer superannuation contributions.

What you'll bring to the role:

* Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.

* Safely conduct physical manual tasks unaided including:

* standing and walking for several hours at a time,

* lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing up and down stairs, reaching and bending.

* Attention to details and alertness to ensure provision of consistent exam invigilation.

* Effective communication, interpersonal skills and ability to deliver professional customer focused service.

* Proficiency with basic computer literacy across a range of computer applications.
