Your role
The opportunity:
* Get ready to launch your Engineering career with the customized 15–month training program.
* You’ll contribute to different projects throughout the program and here are some examples of work the recent Chemical graduates have completed:
o Working on the new nuclear power stations under construction (HPC and SZC) by preparing system design documentation or perhaps managing one of the suppliers to deliver a scope of work
o Working on-site at an operating nuclear power station, supporting site operations, or implementing projects to maintain and renew the assets to support continued operations
* The Science and Engineering Programme also includes protected training time for courses covering nuclear fundamentals, EPR (European Pressurised Reactor) systems, communications, and health & safety.
* The scheme is accredited with several professional institutions, and they will support you to gain chartership with the relevant professional body:
o Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)
o Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA)
o Institute of Physics (IoP)
o The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE)
o The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)
o Institute for Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA)
o Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE)
o The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)
About you
Who you are:
* To join the team you’ll need a 2:2 Bachelor’s Degree or a 2:2 Postgraduate Degree (obtained or expected) in Engineering, Science, or a related subject.
* They are looking for someone with a genuine interest in nuclear energy, the power generation industry, and technology with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, whilst being keen to solve technical problems.
* Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
