About the Opportunity
We're seeking two technically skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Qualification Engineers to join our Defence Industry Vendor Qualification (DIVQ) team.
This role plays a critical part in qualifying Australian suppliers for the Virginia Class Submarine Program, ensuring compliance with rigorous engineering and quality standards.
You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to uplift sovereign industrial capability and harmonise US and Australian technical standards.
Responsibilities
Conduct technical reviews of engineering standards and specifications for supplier qualification.
Provide expert technical support during supplier onboarding and development processes.
Collaborate with quality assurance specialists and the DIVQ team to ensure compliance with program requirements.
Act as the technical interface with US-based shipbuilders and the In Country Qualification Team (ICQT).
Support the harmonisation and implementation of US and Australian engineering standards.
Build internal technical capability and contribute to the development of national industrial standards.
Engage with suppliers, government agencies, and primes across Australia, with flexible domestic travel required.
About You
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical/Systems/Mechanical Engineering), eligible for Engineers Australia membership.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams and lead small groups.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Understanding of sustainment lifecycles, safety systems, ILS, and configuration management.
Familiarity with project management principles including scope, schedule, and risk.
Experience in technical problem-solving in design, manufacturing, or maintenance environments; awareness of submarine safety and Systems Engineering principles is highly desirable.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance up to an NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
