The Commission, established on 1 January ****, is the single independent regulator of Australian Government aged care services and currently offers a variety of interesting and challenging jobs across most capital cities. It is an exciting time to join the Commission, with major reforms underway to improve aged care in Australia. You will contribute as a national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.
About the Role
The EL1 Business Resilience Manager plays a key leadership role in strengthening the Commission's organisational resilience and ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from disruptive events. The position is responsible for maintaining and embedding the Commission's Business Resilience Framework and associated plans, providing expert advice and guidance to staff and executives, and ensuring compliance with whole-of-government integrity, risk, and security requirements. The role promotes a culture of preparedness and continuous improvement, contributes to crisis and continuity planning and response, and engages across the Commission and with external partners to safeguard people, assets and information.
Position Duties
Lead and support the Commission's Business program and related activities, including business resilience strategies, frameworks, policies, and procedures to meet Commission requirements
Provide authoritative advice and support to executives, governance committees, and business areas on business continuity, crisis response and recovery activities
Partner with business areas Commission-wide to embed a fit for purpose organisational business resilience framework for Business Continuity (BC), Crisis Management (CM) and Emergency Management (EM)
Develop, maintain, and implement Business Continuity Plans (both operational and enterprise-level plans), disaster recovery plans and associated strategies and solutions
Conduct business risk assessments, business impact analyses, and document business continuity and disaster recovery plans and procedures
Plan, conduct, facilitate and debrief BCM exercises, including desktop simulations, BCP testing, and scenario workshops, to test and improve the adequacy and efficiency of existing plans and strategies
Assist and support the Business Continuity Team and Executives during disruptive events, acting as lead coordinator for continuity efforts and lessons learned post-event
Monitor compliance with relevant frameworks, including the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and government policies, ensuring alignment with best practice standards
Ensure reporting to the Business Resilience and Security Committee (BRSC) and other governance forums
Keep abreast of best practice, global, national and industry specific emerging risk and resilience trends
Develop, embed and maintain business resilience artefacts, tools, training and awareness activities to strengthen organisational capability
Prepare and quality assure executive briefings, reports and communications relating to business resilience, including crisis and recovery communications
Manage relationships with external service providers to ensure delivery of resilience-related services and projects
Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria)
Demonstrated experience in business continuity management and risk management
Well-developed relationship management skills and ability to engage and influence a multidisciplinary workforce and key stakeholders (internal and external)
Experience in business improvement focusing on change, process & systems, policy, and planning development
High-level change and project management, conceptual and analytical skills
Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills for effective client relationships and presenting complex information to different audiences
Understanding and practical application of risk management frameworks in the APS context, including obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act **** and the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy
Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance
Position Notes
Salary offered will be between $118,588 - $135,251 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months
