Job Overview
Simplot Kelso is our seafood and snacking processing plant, producing a wide range of products daily for the retail and foodservice markets. The site employs local employees, with manufactured goods consisting of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) seafood.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspection / preparation of incoming raw material
* Manual handling of ingredients used in the production process
* Safe operations of fixed plant processing & high speed packaging equipment
* Cleaning and sanitation of production lines
* Accurately complete daily shift logs / associated paperwork
* Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities
* Contribute to site safety & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities
Requirements
Possess a commitment to safety, health & wellbeing in the workplace Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing, process or mechanical related role will be highly regarded Hold a problem solving mindset Ability to commit to 8 hour shifts across a 7 day Mon-Sun roster (incl. of day/night/afternoon shifts) Possess a high level of both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to time management skills and the ability to work to production schedules Ability to work proactively whilst unsupervised whilst also being able to work within a team environment A current LF forklift licence and demonstrated operating experience (advantageous) Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment (incl. urine based drug & alcohol screening)
