In this role, you'll:
We have an exciting opportunity become available for an experienced Technical Specialist to join our Network Maintenance division. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational integrity of Sydney Trains' Transmission network infrastructure.
· Join our Network Maintenance division at Sydney Trains to provide and apply technical expertise in the ongoing maintenance (preventative and corrective) of DWDM, SDH, PDH, Microwave and Supervisory systems.

· Support infrastructure upgrades, project delivery and fault resolutions including up to second and third level support in the rectification of service faults.

· Monitor and manage transmission site supervisory systems and alarms.

· Support network uptime and SLA performance targets, commissioning of new links and upgrades and design reviews including site inspections.

· Provide as-built information and documentation to Design Engineers.

· Collaborate with operations, field teams, and project teams.

· Participate in a 24/7 rotating callout roster to support after hours incidents


This is a permanent full-time position, located at Erskineville. The position is critical to maintaining high network availability across metropolitan and regional environments. You'll support a large geographic footprint spanning from Newcastle to Kiama and to Lithgow. While based in Erskineville, site visits across the coverage area will be required.

About you
Certificate IV in Telecommunications or IT or equivalent experience.

Experience with telecommunications transmission networks, IP networking and data switching.

Strong field skills in diagnosing and resolving complex, high‐pressure faults.

Able to work independently across large geographic areas.

Clear communicator with the ability to work with technical teams, engineers and contractors.

Safety‐focused, reliable and comfortable working in operational rail environments.
