A global leader in next-gen telecommunications technology is looking for a strategic and results-driven Account Director to help expand their IP and Optical networking business across Australia and New Zealand.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of high-value accounts, engage directly with key service providers, and play a critical role in transforming the way networks evolve.
About the Role
This is a senior sales leadership position where you'll be responsible for driving new business and expanding strategic accounts. The ideal candidate is someone who understands carrier-grade network infrastructure and can confidently engage both technical and commercial stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and execute the go-to-market and sales strategy for IP and Optical solutions
* Manage the full sales lifecycle across key ANZ-based telecommunications accounts
* Proactively identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities
* Lead proposal and bid responses (RFx), develop customer presentations, and negotiate deals
* Collaborate closely with sales engineering, delivery, legal, and product teams
* Develop and deepen strategic client relationships to support long-term growth
* Accurately forecast and manage pipeline using Salesforce
What We're Looking For
* 10+ years of B2B sales experience in telecommunications, carrier networks, or IP/optical infrastructure
* Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets in highly competitive environments
* Strong experience selling into service providers or telcos in Australia and/or New Zealand
* Deep understanding of IP/MPLS, Optical Transport (DWDM), and modern network architectures
* Ability to manage complex sales independently and work remotely with autonomy
* Highly developed communication, presentation, and commercial negotiation skills
* Existing senior relationships within major service providers (Telstra, Optus, NBN, etc.)
* Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
* Willingness to travel across Australia/NZ (up to 20%)
