We are an established hydraulic service provider supporting mining, mobile plant, industrial and on-site customers. Our business delivers a mix of workshop rebuilds and field-based breakdown service, with a strong focus on safety, uptime, and long-term customer relationships.
Due to growth, we are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our service operations and technicians across in-house and on-site service delivery.
About the Role
As Service Manager, you will take ownership of the safe, profitable and reliable delivery of hydraulic services, leading technicians, controlling workflow, and ensuring customers receive consistent, high-quality outcomes.
This role suits someone with strong hydraulic knowledge, proven service leadership experience, and the confidence to balance technical decisions, people leadership, safety and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage workshop and field service technicians
* Plan, schedule and prioritise service jobs and breakdowns
* Oversee hydraulic diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds and installations
* Ensure strict compliance with WHS, site safety and hydraulic risk controls
* Control job costing, margins, WIP and labour utilisation
* Scope, quote and approve service work accurately
* Manage breakdown response and customer communication
* Coach, develop and performance-manage technicians and apprentices
* Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and reliability
What We're Looking For
* Strong hands-on knowledge of hydraulic systems (mobile & industrial)
* Proven experience leading service teams (workshop and/or field)
* Solid understanding of job costing, quoting and margin control
* High level of safety leadership, particularly around hydraulic stored energy
* Ability to communicate clearly with technicians and customers
* Experience working in mining, mobile plant, heavy equipment or industrial environments
* Australian work rights and valid driver's licence
Highly Regarded
* Experience with service management systems (D365 an advantage)
* Exposure to preventative maintenance programs
* Multi-site or growth-phase experience
* Strong commercial mindset with P&L awareness
