Child Protection Caseworker Role Overview
The Child Protection Caseworker plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
As a caseworker, you will respond to reports of potential harm surrounding children or young people who may require support.
* You will work sensitively with parents, family members, children or young people, addressing their needs and concerns.
* Work collaboratively with other agencies and engage in problem-solving to achieve positive outcomes.
* Assist families in formulating goals that align with their needs, addressing safety concerns, and provide appropriate assistance through home visits.
* Develop safety plans and complete risk assessments to ensure the protection of children.
* Manage complex cases and situations, including working with high-risk clients and their families.
* Be involved in court processes, including the preparation of documents and attending court as required.
This role requires confidence, curiosity and resilience. Key requirements include:
* A degree in Social Work, Social Science or related fields, preferably with practical experience.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to build strong relationships.
* A valid driver's license (P1 or above) for work-related purposes.
* A current paid working with children clearance number.
