Job Overview
The Injury Management and Return to Work (RTW) Support team is a multidisciplinary group that enables and supports functions critical to delivering high-performing claims management services.
This includes monitoring the integrity of medical information as it relates to claims received by Comcare, managing the Clinical Panel, conducting independent medical examinations and monitoring medical providers.
The team also facilitates a network or community of practice for injury management advisors working on claims, focusing on RTW practice across Australian Public Service (APS) agencies and projects to improve performance and outcomes.
* Contribute to claims management strategy and operating model.
* Drive rehabilitation and RTW practice across claims management operations in line with the claims management strategy.
* Lead monitoring of RTW practice across APS agencies and implement projects to improve rehabilitation and RTW approaches and capability.
* Work across departments, focusing on delivery of consistent rehabilitation and RTW, positive claim outcomes, sharing information and better practice, and resolving conflicts.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director, RTW Support leads a team responsible for driving standards of rehabilitation and RTW practice across departments. They implement projects to improve capability and RTW outcomes.
The Assistant Director collaborates with government agencies, contracted service providers and utilizes data sources and evidence-based approaches to develop recommendations and inform continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualifications in medical or allied health.
* Ability to be registered with relevant professional associations.
* Experience working in rehabilitation industry or practical experience in rehabilitation and/or return to work.
Application Requirements:
* Character clearance.

* Six months probationary period for new engagements.
* Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
