Therapeutic Counsellor Role
This position involves providing specialised and complex therapeutic counselling to children, young people, and their families affected by physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, and domestic violence.
The primary objective of this role is to maintain the child or young person in their family while preventing recurrence of abuse and placement breakdown. The CPCS clinician will provide ongoing support and guidance to help families address the impacts and effects of abuse and neglect.
Counselling and advocacy are core responsibilities of this position, with a focus on maintaining the child's well-being and safety. Additionally, consultation, education, and training for health workers on child protection issues are integral components of this role.
* Maintenance of the child or young person in their family to prevent recurrence of abuse
