About the Role

In your role as the Manager Compliance based in Townsville, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing reliability and compliance of Wilmar's power generation and connection assets across multiple sites. You will lead and coordinate compliance and testing programs that ensure generator and connection obligations are met, while also supporting long-term maintenance and capital improvement strategies across the business.

This is a highly collaborative and technically engaging role where you will work closely with operations teams, asset specialists and external stakeholders on major projects including the connection of the generator at Pioneer Mill and connection agreements across Inkerman, Kalamia and Plane Creek Mills. The role offers strong exposure to complex compliance, power systems and stakeholder management within a large industrial environment.

Role Responsibilities

* Lead and coordinate compliance programs for critical power generation and connection assets across multiple sites.
* Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams on major projects including generator, protection and HV/LV system upgrades.
* Support the planning and delivery of compliance testing programs that keep assets operating safely and efficiently.
* Build good relationships across the business and work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support long-term reliability, compliance and operational performance.

About you

We are looking for someone who brings

Essential

* Substantial experience in a senior technical electrical engineering role within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Technical competence and knowledge of generator and connection compliance requirements, including the National Electricity Rules (NER) and NEM regulatory framework.
* Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
* Technical understanding of steam turbine control, generator control and generator protection systems.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business.
* Ability to engage and work closely with government and regulatory bodies, with strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Desirable

* Experience in generator and connection compliance testing programs.
* Experience working with high voltage equipment, generator protection systems and power system operations.
* Knowledge of generator and network modelling or capital project programs.
* Passion for power engineering, innovation and emerging technologies.
* Electrical Engineering and trade-based qualifications with extensive experience.
* A sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety legislation and best practices.
