Position Summary

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Global Payroll, who resides in Canada, you will lead a national payroll function, ensuring strong governance, seamless delivery, and a high-quality employee experience. You'll work closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders to ensure payroll operations support both compliance requirements and the evolving needs of the business.
This role offers the opportunity to influence, improve, and modernise payroll processes within a large, complex organisation.
* Lead, coach and develop a high-performing payroll team across Australia
* Ensure end-to-end payroll is delivered accurately, on time, and in line with regulatory requirements
* Maintain strong governance through effective controls, documentation, and audit readiness
* Oversee payroll compliance across tax, superannuation, and employment legislation
* Manage payroll approvals and resolve complex issues with integrity and attention to detail
* Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to deliver aligned and efficient outcomes
* Lead year‐end processes, audits, and general ledger reconciliations
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance service delivery
* Contribute to global payroll alignment through standardisation and best practice adoption
Qualifications
* Significant relevant experience as a Payroll Manager within a large multi‐facetted organisation
* A relevant payroll certification
* Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
* Proven leadership capability, with experience building and developing engaged teams
* Experience working with large ERP payroll systems (SAP ECP, SuccessFactors will be considered an asset)
* Advanced Excel and reporting capability
* A track record of improving processes and driving efficiency in complex environments
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across all levels
* High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage competing priorities
