The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Operations Manager to provide a critical role within Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria Intelligence Service (CVIS) is the overarching intelligence service for Corrections Victoria (CV) and its stakeholders.
The CVIS is comprised of the primary intelligence unit known as the Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit (CVIU), and localised prison intelligence units located at the public and private prison facilities in Victoria.
About the Role
The position of Operations Manager will have the primary responsibility for leading a team that collects, records, analyses and disseminates information to support decision makers across Corrections Victoria and key stakeholders.
The role will also identify risks and threats to CV and prevent incidents with impact to custodial facilities and community safety.
The Operations Manager fosters and maintains critical stakeholder relationships across the criminal justice system.
The position will contribute to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of the CVIU to meet the organisation's changing needs, with a focus on service excellence and community safety.
The role also requires strong leadership to drive development of a varied workforce, strong governance, and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
Some of your duties will include:
Leading and contributing to the ongoing strategic planning, implementation, and improvement of CVIU operations.
Leading a team of intelligence practitioners delivering varied intelligence functions, providing strong leadership, guidance, and ensuring responsibility and accountability.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will be able to:
Demonstrate significant experience in delivering tactical, operational and strategic intelligence functions.
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of contemporary principles and practises that apply to intelligence functions within the criminal justice system and across intelligence agencies.
Knowledge of the Corrections Act **** and Corrections Regulations **** and other relevant legislation
Qualifications/requirements
An existing Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance, otherwise one must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Australian Citizenship.
Working knowledge of the Centurion Intelligence System, Ejustice, PIMS, Microsoft Office and the Prisoner Telephone System (desirable).
Experience in a prison environment as a custodial officer and intelligence practitioner.
