Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Planner – Ampol Refinery, Lytton, Brisbane
Wood is recruiting for a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Planner to join the team at the Ampol Refinery located in Lytton, Brisbane.
We will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those holding the required permit/VISA to work in this region.
The Role
Support the Lead Planner with the ongoing development and implementation of various planning and quality processes, while assuming responsibility for scoping, estimating, planning and scheduling all Electrical & Instrumentation work in a designated process area of the Oil Refinery.
Responsibilities
- Review CMMS daily for approved notifications and create work orders.
- Conduct site inspections to provide a detailed scope of work.
- Populate work order & workpack with tasks, discipline hours, materials, specialist vendor requirements, PMRs and other services required to execute the work.
- Maintain the integrity of the CMMS.
- Plan and schedule preventative work orders, ensuring statutory testing and compliance is maintained.
- Reserve all stock materials, identify part numbers and all information required for the purchase of non‑stock items.
- Maintain an overview of user status constraints, verifying the work order status accurately represents progress & constraint through the entire life cycle.
- Proactively participate in the management of planning & quality processes.
- Apply technical aptitude to resolve backlog prioritisation, liaising with coordinators & technical departments to determine optimum methodology & time.
- Liaise with Area Planners, identifying SIMOPS opportunities during development of Turn‑Around, 90‑Day, 28‑Day programs & weekly schedules.
- Attend/Chair the Weekly Planning & Scheduling meetings.
- Take feedback on work completion and continually improve information for future work – create job‑specific task lists, update critical BOMs.
- Participate in development & control of the R&M; Area Budgets.
- Demonstrate a proactive role in identifying safety improvements.
- Provide proactive, constructive and innovative input which enhances current practices.
- Actively pursue personal development using the My Success Plan process.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience within a similar or related industry.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or applicable trade qualification.
- Knowledge of relevant discipline and industry procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and best practices.
- Previous CMMS experience highly desirable (SAP, Primavera).
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly skilled in MS Office – Word, Excel.
