Research Assistant - Metabolic Neuroscience Laboratory

Position Overview
Join us to conduct cutting‑edge research on metabolic disease and brain‑body signalling, collaborating across disciplines with international partners, and contribute to innovative therapeutic development.
Responsibilities
* Conduct in vivo metabolic studies: Perform independent studies in rodent models, including handling, monitoring, surgery, and drug administration.
* Optimise research methodologies: Develop methods for RNA and protein extraction and biochemical and histological analysis for transcriptomic and proteomic studies.
* Mentor and collaborate: Provide technical mentoring to students and support collaborative research efforts within the team.
* Support data analysis and reporting: Analyse data using specialised software and contribute to writing reports and publishing.
Qualifications and Experience
* BSc (Hons) in a relevant field with experience in in vivo research and transgenic colony management.
* Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
* Practical knowledge of preparing protein and RNA extracts for omics analyses.
* Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
* Strong time‑management and ability to prioritise tasks.
* Experience with commercial conditions and confidentiality.
