The location and Lifestyle:
Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the area.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Light Vehicle Technician to join our team. The position of Light Vehicle Technician requires certain physical demands and exposure to challenging environments that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, work at heights and other exertions associated with manual roles as well as a strong commitment to safety while working in an operational mine site environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Proven experience in light vehicle machinery maintenance and servicing.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in diesel mechanics or a related field.
Key Selection Criteria:
Minimum of 5 years as Light Vehicle Service Technician
Mechanical aptitude
Self motivated with excellent problem solving skills
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the Company
Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
Highly organized with strongtime management and communications skillsto manage competing and/or changing priorities
Systems savvy and comfortable with technology, particularly experienced with MS office (intermediate), while able to adapt and be flexible with the changing needs of the Company
Queensland Heavy Rigid (HR) (Desirable)
Additional Requirements for Working at Mt Carbine:
The ability to pass a pre-employment medical
Australian Criminal History CheckRequirement to live within 100 km of Mt Carbine Mine This position is DIDO.
Must have full work rights to work in Australia
