Based in our Brisbane Head Office, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Developer to lead the team as a Production Manager. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless manufacturing and production of Lorna Jane Activewear.
**Responsibilities include**:
Reporting to our Founder and CCO, and working closely with our Head Designer, you will be responsible for implementing procedures for the delivery of all milestones across the critical path and leading the Production team. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and execution of critical path clearly defining strategic timeline with deliverable deadlines to ensure that plans can be delivered on time and with profitable margins
- Actionable planning for sustainability and execution for tangible results for accuracy across the range, volume, and raw material
- Collaborating with the executive and senior leadership to devise plans on brand vision, sustainability, and changes in supply chain for effective and measurable deliverables
- Trouble shooting and providing support to team members to drive solution-based results
- Managing the fitting process in collaboration with Designers, assessing fabric, fit and quality, and making necessary changes and improvements.
- Communicating all required changes back to the manufacturer and suppliers accurately and in detail, continuing this process over multiple samples until garment is ready for production
- Negotiating best possible prices with suppliers while maintaining quality, service, and profit margins
- Ensuring wash and wear testing is done to ensure products are fit for purpose, in line with Lorna Jane quality standards.
- Sending tech packs to manufacturers and translating design concepts to ensure samples and bulk products are made correctly as per Designer specifications.
- Assist designers and Product Techs in the development of new fabrics, trims and prints in conjunction with the supplier and in line with critical path.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to enable seamless communication and efficient processes and updating all internal and shared documents as needed.
- Ensuring quality control by inspecting final shipping samples for quality, fit and to required Lorna Jane standards.
What are we looking for?
- Strong understanding of fabric qualities, functions, and limitations
- Previous experience in garment construction and fitting processes
- Previous experience maintaining manufacturer relationships and negotiating contracts
- Previous leadership experience
- Bachelor in Fashion Design or relevant field
- High level of technical skills and experience using Illustrator and Photoshop
