Job Description
We are advertising on behalf of our client OSM Australia Pty Ltd. They are currently looking for Marine Engineer to join their Tasmania team on a full-time basis. Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Understand, abide and implement all relevant documentation, regulations, guidelines and procedures 2. Record and report any undesired events, unsafe practices or near misses to Vessel Captain and arrange to rectify them if safely possible. 3. Vessel Chief Engineer shall ensure that mechanical and electrical system are operating and maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
4. Inform Vessel Captain of bunker requirement and plan and supervise the receipt, storage, transfer and consumption of fuel and lubes. 5. Ensure that all local and international oil pollution laws are strictly observed and that the oil record book is maintained as required by law. 6. Ensure that all manuals, records, books, forms and drawings under the department are well maintained, stored and updated as required.
7. Ensure that all clerical duties of the department are carried out. Skills and qualifications: - Engine officer qualifications in line with company's competence and training matrix.
- Minimum 6 months experience from fish service vessels in a senior officer position. - Very good communication skills.
