St. Leger Brockman has partnered with a fast-growing, data-driven digital business to recruit a new Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team.
This is a broad commercial role working closely with senior stakeholders across product, technology, commercial and marketing teams. The position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape the legal framework around innovative consumer-facing digital products.
You will report to an experienced General Counsel and play a key role in supporting the business as it develops and launches new products and partnerships.
The Role
You will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice across a wide range of matters, including:
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial and technology agreements supporting core business services
* Supporting the development and launch of new digital products and partnerships, from early concept through to market launch
* Providing advice on privacy, data and intellectual property issues within a technology-led environment
* Managing legal risk, complaints, disputes and incident response matters
* Developing and maintaining standard form agreements and internal legal processes
* Delivering legal and compliance training across the business and promoting a strong culture of compliance
This role offers exposure to a highly collaborative environment where legal works closely with product, commercial and senior management teams to deliver practical outcomes.
About You
You are a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working close to the business and finding pragmatic solutions.
We are looking for someone with:
* 3-6 years' post-qualification experience
* Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
* Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
* Confidence working autonomously and managing matters end-to-end
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders
Experience in financial services, digital or technology businesses will be highly regarded, as will familiarity with areas such as privacy, consumer law and regulatory compliance.
