Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Advanced Electron Microscopy
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to join our team as a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Physics and Astronomy.
This is an exceptional opportunity to conduct high-quality research in the development and application of new transmission electron microscopy methods (STEM and/or TEM) using a beam blanker to solve important problems in materials science.
The successful applicant will develop and apply methods using an aberration-corrected FEG-TEM with beam blanker and pixelated, single electron detector systems to deliver new information about beam-sensitive materials and time-dependent phenomena in condensed matter physics.
The position will work in close collaboration with Professor Jian-Min Zuo, Director of the Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy, which has a powerful suite of instrumentation, including the Thermo Scientific Spectraφ, an advanced S/TEM with beam blanker, multiple fast pixelated detectors and unique electron-optical elements to optimise performance in S/TEM.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated understanding and knowledge in the theory and application of S/TEM and a PhD or equivalent qualification and will possess sound interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
