Overview
Local Perth based landscape construction company seeks a Landscape Assistant / Potential Leading Hand to join our team and undertake landscaping construction works (not maintenance).
Based in Balcatta and servicing the Perth metro area (working from our depot). The position is full time, joining a dedicated crew working alongside some of Perth's most recognized Landscape Architects / Garden Designers on high-end residential construction projects.
Responsibilities
* Undertake landscaping construction works (not maintenance).
* Work as part of a dedicated crew, collaborating with landscape architects and garden designers on high-end residential projects.
* Read and interpret landscape construction plans and site levels/contours.
* Operate hand-held and mechanical equipment as appropriate, with a focus on safety and industry standards.
* Contribute to both hardscaping and softscaping construction activities.
* Maintain a physically active role requiring the ability to lift/move heavy items as part of the job.
* Work outdoors in varying weather conditions (sun/heat/rain).
Qualifications & Prerequisites
* Clean, valid WA driver's license.
* Current construction card (Australian White Card).
* Ability to read and interpret landscape construction plans.
* Sound knowledge of construction skills, equipment (hand-held and mechanical), and ability to read site levels and contours.
* Ability to work in a team environment and/or unsupervised in a safe manner to industry standards.
* Position is hands-on and requires physical fitness to lift/move heavy items.
* Work undertaken is external and in the elements.
* Experience in hard and softscaping construction.
* Monday – Friday working week.
Favourable experience/qualifications (not essential)
* Cert 2 or 3 in Horticulture.
* Truck (MR/HR) licence.
* Previous experience in the horticultural industry (minimum 3 years) with capacity to site-train the right candidate.
* Experience on small machinery (Kanga/Dingo/ excavator).
