Overview
Senior/Supervisor Accountant - VCFO - Remote Working. My client is a cloud-based CA practice with 3 Directors and 20 staff. The firm’s key service offering is virtual CFO services, with additional tax and annual compliance, strategic advice and R&D; consulting. They serve start-ups and tech industry clients, plus a range of other industries, with clients ranging from pre-revenue to approximately $30 million in annual turnover. The Australia team is supported by offshore counterparts in the Philippines.
The team values an autonomous, client‑facing role and emphasizes a laid‑back, down‑to‑earth culture with technology-enabled delivery, flexible work arrangements, and regular social and team events.
Responsibilities
- Outsourced CFO duties including budgeting and forecasting, month‑end accounting, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, and monthly consolidated reporting.
- Assist the tax team to prepare and review year‑end financials and tax returns, quarterly and monthly activity statements, payroll tax, and FBT.
- Drive system and efficiency development for clients.
- Manage client relationships to ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for value-added services and provide proactive recommendations to clients.
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing guidance on technical accounting matters.
- Utilise app advisory platforms such as Fathom, Spotlight Reporting and Visible to improve client and stakeholder reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards).
- 4+ years of experience in business services and/or VCFO work.
- Experience reviewing the work of junior and/or offshore team members.
- Strong experience with accounting systems including Xero and XPM.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Spotlight Reporting and Visible; exposure to the start-up industry is advantageous but not essential.
What We Offer
- $90k - $120k + Super.
- Remote work with 1 day per quarter travel to the head office in Sydney.
