About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Science Teacher to become a valuable addition to our remarkable team at St Johns College in Dubbo NSW. The teacher in a Secondary Catholic School is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs relevant to the Science curriculum while creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment for their students.

We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

* Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies
* Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress
* Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education
* Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement
* Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes
* Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life
* Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities

About You (selection criteria)

We are looking for someone who can meet following selection criteria:

* Experience in teaching Science across various year levels
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW
* Ability to teach Science Chemistry and Physics
* A proven ability to differentiate the learning to meet the needs of all students
* The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding
* Strong classroom management skills, creating a positive learning environment
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
* Experience using technology to inform, track, and report student learning
* Design programmes and strategies to address the educational needs of our students
* Expertise in managing student behaviour in a way that supports learning
* Commitment to the development of a self-improving school culture
* Understanding and commitment to the ideals of Catholic education
* Passion for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to diverse learners
