Primary Music Teacher – Part Time (with view to ongoing)
Portside Christian College is seeking a passionate and committed Christian educator to inspire young learners through music.
This role involves planning and delivering engaging music programs for Primary students, fostering creativity and collaboration, and contributing to the vibrant faith community of the College.
Applicants must hold (or be eligible for) South Australian Teacher Registration, have training and skills in music (instrumental and/or choral preferred), and demonstrate strong communication and organisational abilities.
General Responsibilities
Commit to, the College Vision, Purpose, Values and Statement of Faith.
Act in accordance with all College policies and procedures, including the Staff Code of Conduct, and the Staff Handbook.
Develop and maintain positive, restorative and collaborative relationships with staff, students and parents.
Actively contribute to the Christian life of the College community.
Attend meetings, functions and extra-curricular activities as required.
Participate in the College's ongoing Professional Learning opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities
Demonstrate continuous improvement aligned with the Portside Christian College philosophy of education and Standards of Professional Practice for Teachers.
Plan and implement teaching and learning programs using the Understanding by Design (UbD) framework from a biblical perspective aligned with the Australian Curriculum and SACE.
Model and promote best practice in pedagogy, teaching and learning that inspires learners.
Promote a restorative team and learning culture using KARR framework of kindness, agency, respect and responsiveness.
Liaise with the Student Wellbeing Coordinator and Inclusion Support Team as required.
Actively participate in the faith community.
Qualifications
South Australian Teacher Registration, or be eligible to obtain registration.
A Bachelor of Education qualification with previous teaching experience highly desirable.
South Australian Government Working with Children Check.
Current First Aid qualification – BELS First Aid training (HLTAID010) at a minimum.
Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Training.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Training and applied understandings in music, preferably in instrumental skills and/or choral skills for Primary students
Ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with students, staff and parents.
Ability to inspire learning and create an engaged, respectful and collaborative learning culture.
Effective organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
Ability to be innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
Able to manage the demands of the position including administration and professional responsibilities.
