About This Role
Brunel is partnering with a Tier One mining business to support the construction of a major greenfield processing plant in Australia. The successful candidate will oversee critical bulk earthworks, road construction, and large-scale concrete operations for this landmark project.
This 18-month civil construction program involves significant bulk earthworks, the placement of over 5,000m³ of concrete, construction of deep foundations, footings, pedestals, and complex suspended slab structures within a new process plant.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and supervise multiple civil contractors across a complex construction program
* Serve as the key interface between Contractors, Engineering Service Providers (ESP), and internal project teams
* Evaluate and ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
* Oversee Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures, including ITP/ITR implementation and validation
* Lead hazard and risk assessments and ensure safety compliance is maintained across site
* Ensure all works are delivered in line with scope, technical specifications, project schedule and expectations
* Monitor and report on contractor progress, resolve on-site issues, and manage scope changes
* Coordinate permits, approvals, and access with relevant stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 10+ years' experience in construction or heavy industry, with 5+ years in a civil EPCM or client-side role
* Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities
* In-depth knowledge of bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, and concrete operations
* Excellent understanding of QA/QC processes, safety legislation, and site compliance
* Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and contractor deliverables
* Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills
* A trade qualification or relevant technical background in Civil or Bulk Earthworks
* Certificate IV in Frontline Management (preferred)
* Completion of BSBWHS414 & BSBWHS411 (preferred)
