Applications Project Manager – 8-month contract
Initial contract until end of June **** with possible extension, approx.
$1k / day.
Location: Brisbane City Fringe, flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.
About the Role
Seasoned Applications Implementation Project Manager required to lead the Studyfinder Replacement and Curriculum Uplift Projects for a large complex organisation in the Education sector.
Responsibilities
Project management services to mobilise, scope, define, deliver and close the project end-to-end.
Accountable for on-time delivery and closure in accordance with the organisation's Project Delivery Framework.
Adherence to the Project Delivery Framework and PMO guidance where uncertainty exists.
Support establishment and operation of a Project Steering Group for each project.
Project status, health and performance reporting.
Project mobilisation, scoping and definition; development of project approaches, estimates, plans and schedules.
Preparation of Project Brief and securing Project Steering Group approval.
Preparation of the Project Initiation Document (PID) and securing approval.
Delivery in accordance with the approved PID.
Post-go-live support and orderly closure in accordance with the approved PID.
Closure of the projects.
Identification and engagement of stakeholders and additional resources required for performance.
Any other project-management activities agreed with the Steering Group to ensure successful delivery.
Adherence to the organisation's project management, testing, change-management and software development frameworks, standards and lifecycles.
Project management of delivery in accordance with the approved PID.
Skills and Experience
Proven track record as a Project Manager implementing large complex system implementation solutions (ideally in tertiary education).
Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to think strategically while handling detailed execution challenges.
Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Proven ability to lead and manage teams and vendors to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes and budget.
Proven track record of successful project and/or project delivery, using PRINCE2, and traditional and hybrid Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
Ability to handle pressure, make decisions and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
