The Energy & Major Projects team is highly regarded for its work advising developers, investors, and project sponsors on the procurement, delivery, and operation of complex energy and infrastructure projects. With deep expertise across renewable energy, power generation, and major construction, the practice is strategically positioned at the forefront of Australia's energy transition.
The Sydney team is now seeking a Senior Associate to play a pivotal role in the ongoing expansion of this high-performing, well-connected practice.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Lawyer, you will play a key role advising on major energy and infrastructure projects across Australia and offshore, working across the full project lifecycle from development through to delivery and operation.
Your work will include:
* Advising on the procurement, delivery, and operation of major projects
* Acting on renewable energy, power generation, and major infrastructure developments
* Drafting and negotiating EPC, D&C, O&M, and other key project agreements
* Advising on risk allocation, project structuring, and delivery models
* Providing commercially focused advice to project sponsors and developers
You will work closely with leading partners and collaborate with teams across Australia and internationally, gaining strong client exposure and the opportunity to build a recognised profile in the energy and major projects market.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* Demonstrable experience advising on major energy, construction, or infrastructure projects
* Admission to practise in Australia, New Zealand, or another Commonwealth jurisdiction
* Excellent drafting and negotiation skills across complex project documentation
* A commercial, solutions-focused approach to major projects
* Confidence managing matters and advising clients directly
* An interest in building long-term client relationships and contributing to practice growth
Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment will round out your strengths.
