We are seeking an experienced tax professional to lead our Asia-Pacific tax function. As the Senior Tax Manager, you will oversee corporate income and indirect tax compliance for our Australian, New Zealand, and Asian subsidiaries.
Reporting to the Global Tax Director in North America, you will work closely with Finance and other tax team members to ensure seamless integration of our global tax operations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced software consolidator on a significant growth trajectory with an unmatched M&A environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Australia and New Zealand that includes M&A tax, corporate income tax, and exposure to corporate income taxes for countries in Southeast Asia.

* Chartered Accountant CA/CPA designation or equivalent experience

* Proven Australian corporate income tax accounting and returns experience

* Experience managing corporate income and indirect taxes for Asia-Pacific entities in countries such as New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia

* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing tax memorandums
">
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

* Highly motivated and energetic with interest in entrepreneurship, software, and finance

Our ANZ head office is based on Collins Street, Melbourne. We ideally want someone who is open to being in the office at least two days per week. Extensive travel is not expected in this role, but there may be a need to travel to regional operating companies or our global HQ in Toronto, Canada a couple of times a year.

As the Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for:

* Preparing, reviewing, and signing corporate income tax returns and supporting workpapers for Banyan's Australian subsidiaries
">
* Managing and collaborating with external tax advisors to complete income tax returns for Banyan's subsidiaries in New Zealand and other Asia-Pacific countries
">
* Calculating current and deferred income taxes for Banyan's Australian, New Zealand, and other Asia-Pacific subsidiaries under local GAAP and US GAAP
">
* Managing indirect taxes for Banyan's Australian, New Zealand, and other Asia-Pacific subsidiaries
">
* Preparing, reviewing, remitting, and filing Australian GST and Business Activity Statements, and New Zealand GST returns

* Managing tax audits with the Australian Tax Office, New Zealand Inland Revenue, and other tax authorities in Asia

* Working with the Global M&A Senior Tax Manager and performing pre-acquisition tax planning and due diligence on potential Australian and other Asia-Pacific acquisitions

* Reviewing tax-related items in opening balance sheet and purchase price accounting calculations for Australian and other Asia-Pacific acquisitions

* Working with the Global Tax and Treasury teams to repatriate cash using tax-efficient methods

* Ensuring withholding tax requirements are met

* Preparing and reviewing transfer pricing calculations for Banyan's Australian, New Zealand, and other Asia-Pacific subsidiaries

* Ensuring transfer pricing reports and contemporaneous documentation are timely completed with the assistance of external advisors

* Managing transfer pricing payments to ensure they are timely settled and properly recorded
