Job Description
Under the limited direction (Level 6) or minimal direction (Level 7) of the Regional Manager:
1. Leads and coordinates the planned development and delivery of the department’s conservation services in the Goldfields region, and ensures the services are in the spirit and intent of joint management.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.
2. Considerable (Level 6) or extensive (Level 7) knowledge of, and experience in the provision of nature conservation and natural land management services, in developing and implementing related operational plans, management plans and strategies, and having familiarity with the principles of planning for biodiversity outcomes and ecologically sustainable development.
3. Considerable (Level 6) or extensive (Level 7) experience in the effective management and leadership of teams, and in negotiating, communicating and liaising with the community, media, and special interest groups including Aboriginal people.
4. Substantial experience and competence in financial management and other management systems; including project management, risk management, and information technology.
5. Considerable (Level 6) or extensive (Level 7) knowledge and experience in engaging, communicating, liaising and working successfully with Traditional Owners and joint management partners to deliver nature conservation programs.
Applicants who meet selection criteria 1, 2 and 3 to a high degree will be particularly well regarded.
