Lead Sustainable Aquatic Resources Management
The role of a Fisheries Management Officer is to lead and supervise the development of policy, providing advice to government, key stakeholders, and the public on sustainable aquatic resources management in the Northern Territory.
This involves strategic planning to facilitate effective policy development and delivery of operational frameworks. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policy to ensure sustainable management and development of NT's fish and aquatic resources.
* Key Duties:
* Coordinate the financial and administrative aspects of projects, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
* Provide expert advice to key stakeholders, government organisations, and indigenous groups on sustainable management of fish and aquatic resources.
* Facilitate meetings and negotiate outcomes with stakeholders.
* Ensure projects and operations are targeted towards achieving departmental and government objectives.
* Supervise staff and support their development to improve work team capacity and capability.
