The role
We are partnering with an innovative medical technology company to recruit an experienced Electronics & Firmware Engineer to join their growing team in Perth.
This is a senior technical leadership opportunity working on next-generation Class II/III medical devices within a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
The Opportunity
You will act as the technical authority across all electronics engineering activities, driving the end-to-end development of complex medical device systems — from concept through to manufacturing and compliance.
The role combines:
- Embedded firmware development
- Cross-functional project leadership
- Team mentorship and technical direction
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electronics and firmware development for medical device products
- Design analog, digital, RF, and low-power electronic systems
- Develop embedded systems using C/C++ and RTOS environments
- Support biosignal acquisition and signal processing applications (ECG, electrochemistry, etc.)
- Drive compliance with ISO13485, IEC60601, ISO14971 & IEC62304
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, chemistry, and clinical teams
- Mentor junior engineers and support quality-focused engineering culture
- Manage testing, validation, manufacturing support, and technical documentation
Skills & Experience
- 5–10+ years' experience in high-reliability electronics engineering
- Expertise with Altium Designer & Altium-365
- Embedded systems experience (Nordic, STM32, Analog Devices or similar)
- Strong understanding of analog front‐end design and low‐noise systems
- Experience with PCB testing, manufacturing, and validation tools
- Familiarity with Agile/JIRA/GitHub workflows
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Experience within Class II/III medical devices highly regarded
- Engineers Australia membership beneficial
