About the program: In the Pre-service Teacher Pathway Program, you will:
Assist with and deliver engaging lessons to support and foster student learning.Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement curriculum activities.Participate in school events and professional development opportunities.Provide feedback and support to students and their families to enhance their educational experience.Eligibility requirements: To apply, you must have:
Current enrolment in an approved third year or final year of a four-year full-time tertiary teaching qualification.Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid working visa.Your resume/CV detailing your experience and teaching qualifications.Evidence of enrolment in an approved course.Two assessment reports from your most recent placements.Contact details for two teaching referees.Conditions of offer: Suitable applicants will need to meet the following conditions prior to commencing their employment as a teacher with the ACT Education Directorate:

*The ACT Permit to Teach program, endorsed by the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI), is a pathway for aspiring teachers.
It allows final-year pre-service teachers in accredited Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programs to teach in ACT public schools.
Permits to Teach are requested by the ACT Education Directorate and come in two types: Restricted Permit to Teach: For final-year undergraduate or master's ITE students who are yet to complete their final placement.
It allows students to teach in a specific school setting aligned with their studies; work up to 60% of a full-time teaching load and access paid practicum leave for your final placement.Unrestricted Permit to Teach: For final-semester ITE students who have completed their final placement.
Work up to 100% FTE without restrictions.Eligible universities for the Restricted Permit to Teach include Australian Catholic University; Charles Darwin University; Charles Sturt University; Swinburne University; University of Canberra.
All Australian university pre-service teachers can apply for an Unrestricted Permit once course requirements are met.
