Automotive Accessories Fitter Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Automotive Accessories Fitter is to install and fit a diverse range of 4WD accessories, including bull bars, roof racks, side steps, suspension upgrades, lift kits, lighting systems, snorkels, winches, recovery equipment, dual battery systems, electrical components, UHF radios and communication systems.
Key responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-installation inspections to ensure compatibility and proper fitment, testing and verifying the correct functionality of installed accessories, collaborating with sales staff to understand customer requirements, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to stringent workplace health and safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an automotive accessories fitter or in a similar role, possess strong mechanical and technical aptitude, have experience working with 4WD vehicles and aftermarket accessories, be able to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals, possess basic auto-electrical knowledge and skills, exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills, and hold a valid driver's license.
Relevant trade qualifications are highly preferred but not mandatory.
