About the farm
This is a large-scale aggregation west of Moree, comprising over 23,000 hectares of dryland and irrigated cropping, plus extensive grazing. The property is equipped with modern infrastructure, including a grain handling and storage complex, upgraded irrigation systems, and quality housing for staff.
The Moree Plains region is one of Australia's most productive agricultural hubs, renowned for its fertile black soils, efficient irrigation systems, and innovation in broadacre cropping.
As Senior Farmhand, you'll work closely with the Operations Manager, taking responsibility for the efficient day-to-day delivery of irrigation and farm operations, while ensuring machinery and assets are well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and assist with irrigation cropping operations (cotton and other broadacre crops).
Operate, service, and maintain modern farm machinery and irrigation infrastructure.
Take ownership of assigned farming tasks, completing them to a high standard and on schedule.
Supervise and support other farm staff when required.
Ensure safe work practices and uphold high WHS standards.
Occasionally assist with dryland cropping or livestock operations.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
Solid knowledge of cropping and irrigated farming operations .
Full Driver's Licence (HR licence and/or machinery tickets highly regarded).
Hands-on skills in machinery operation, maintenance, and farm infrastructure.
Strong ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve.
Leadership skills with experience mentoring or supervising small teams.
Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to safety and high standards.
