Our client is currently seeking an experienced Production Purchasing Officer to join their highly agile and professional team. The purpose of this role is to support the production team in ensuring adequate supplies of raw material items are available limiting production delays.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Procurement of raw materials to fulfil demand driven from customer and production orders.
- Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing or FMCG
- Liaising with local suppliers to co-ordinate & ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Working closely with the Procurement manager in maintaining & developing supplier relationships.
- Conducting routine supplier reviews, measuring and monitoring supplier service levels,
- Communicating and managing delays of material shortages to internal stakeholders such as liaising with sales and production to ensure timely procurement of all materials.
- Working closely with Finance colleagues on cost comparisons of materials and suppliers
- Assisting the Procurement manager in negotiation of the best possible price for all materials.
- Partnering with the R&D; and Quality teams in sourcing new or unique materials.
- Identifying potential suppliers required and existing materials with keen eye for pricing and quality
