The role of Production Assistant is to provide crucial support to the Production team in ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the production process, working to schedules and timelines.
* Support development, sampling, and production for major accounts in the government sector and airlines.
* Collaborate with warehouse supervisor and production staff to facilitate local and offshore production.
* Coordinate local production processes and raise offshore production orders.
* Assist with liaison with freight forwarders and handle fabric and accessory ordering.
Purchasing and Supply Chain Management:
* Raise and send purchase orders for goods and services from suppliers.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers for order issues and confirmations.
* Monitor and report on supplier performance and stock levels.
* Request price and availability from new and existing suppliers.
* Maintain master data and purchasing information records.
* Review requisitions for indent products and advise on production plan issues.
* Expedite local and international purchase orders and maintain shipping dates.
General Administration and Support:
* Coordinate with various stakeholders including suppliers, makers, customers, and sales representatives.
* Assist in new product development by liaising with the customer's product development team.
* Manage invoices related to production and development, coding and passing them to the accounts department.
* Read and collate information from new tender and customer briefs to initiate the development process.
* Support national warehouses and sales managers with various tasks including weekly, monthly and yearly reports and stocktakes.
* Assist with compliance for the organisation by ensuring adherence to industry standards, as well as liaising with certifiers, factory auditors, and unions.
* Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar production/quality control/garment technician role.
* Basic understanding of import-export logistics processes.
* Fluency in Mandarin is preferable but not essential.
* Garment construction knowledge and fashion/textile certification are desirable.
* Experience in supplier management and procurement.
* Strong organisational, interpersonal and prioritisation skills.
* Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
* Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
