About the Role
We're looking for a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to strengthen our financial reporting, controls, and commercial insights. In this fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You'll dive deep into product margins, inventory movements, promotional spend, and supply chain performance; all critical levers that shape commercial decision‑making.
What You'll Be Doing
* Own month‑end close activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Provide analysis on sales, gross margin, COGS, and promotional impacts to support commercial decision‑making.
* Maintain accurate inventory valuation, stock reconciliations, and SKU costing across warehouses, production sites, and 3PLs.
* Investigate purchase price variance (PPV), production variances, wastage, and write‑offs, partnering with supply chain and operations to improve stock accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
* Track and reconcile trade spend, rebates, discounts, and promotional programs, ensuring accruals align with commercial agreements and providing visibility on ROI.
* Prepare BAS, PAYG, FBT, and other statutory returns, and support compliance with IFRS/AASB and internal controls.
* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for COGS, overheads, and margin drivers.
* Work with commercial teams to model pricing changes, promotions, and product launches.
* Support ERP and financial system enhancements and identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
* Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to translate financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Support new product development (NPD) with costing and financial modelling.
What We're Looking For
* Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA/CPA qualified or working toward qualification.
* 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting.
* Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or other high‑volume environments.
* Strong financial and cost accounting capability.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
* High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commercial mindset.
* Confident communicator who can explain financial concepts to non‑finance teams.
* Thrives in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.
What's In It for You
* A role with real impact on commercial and operational performance.
* Exposure across the full value chain; from costing to promotions to supply chain.
* A chance to shape processes, drive improvements, and influence decision‑making.
* Supportive team culture with opportunities for growth and development.
