Position Overview
The Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital seeks Passionate Unaccredited Trainees to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department for a WBA program starting 2026. The role supports 5 O&G surgeons, 5 unaccredited trainees, and 2 junior medical officers. The WBA program runs for six months and is one of the largest in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical care to women requiring planned and emergency services in a complex environment, under appropriate supervision. Experience includes critical care, autonomous practice commensurate with medical officer level, supervised clinic and theatre time, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
* Antenatal and gynaecology clinics.
* Ward duties, caesarean sections, and gynaecological lists.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for best service delivery.
* Maintain patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management.
Qualifications
* Qualifications and experience commensurate with the essential requirements for the role.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment.
* Effective teamwork skills within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and self-education.
* At least three years of postgraduate experience in a public hospital service (or equivalent).
