Night Shift Signal Maintenance Technician (SMT)

Location: Ballarat

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time

Reports to: Signal Supervisor

Salary: $61.86 per hour + superannuation

Working rights: You must have Australian entitlement to work. A check will be conducted as part of the pre-employment screening.

About The Role

Reporting to the Signal Supervisor, you will provide reactive and preventative maintenance of signalling equipment and systems.

This position is a 7 on 7 off, night shift roster.

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:  

* Assist with the maintenance and installation of work on signalling and communications equipment.  
* Assist with the allocated routine maintenance tasks to accord with the technical maintenance plan and servicing schedules and enter task-completing reports to the maintenance management system.  
* Assist with the use of service schedules and maintenance instructions to guide reactive and preventative activities.  

A little about you

Our ideal candidate for the Signal Maintenance Technician role is a skilled professional adept at maintaining and installing signalling equipment, performing routine and reactive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations. Flexibility to travel and work overtime as needed is essential.  

In addition to this you will have:

* A Certificate III – Electrotechnology.
* Certificate IV in Rail Signalling
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Meet V/Line’s Rail Industry Worker safety benchmarks.
* Current full Driver's License.  
* Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023.
