About The Role
Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced DevOps OpenShift Software Engineer (Developer). This is a long‐term contract role with an initial contract of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extensions, located in ACT, QLD, or VIC, with hybrid working arrangements (initial 6 weeks full‐time onsite, then minimum 3 days per week onsite).
As The Selected Candidate, You Will
* Design, develop, test, support and maintain software across the SDLC
* Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application teams
* Embed DevOps best practices across delivery lifecycles
* Monitor system performance, availability and workloads
* Define and document software and technical designs for complex solutions
* Provide go‐live support and ongoing maintenance
* Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure and stakeholder teams
To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have
* Experience as a Software Engineer/DevOps Engineer at APS6 equivalent level
* Strong experience with CI/CD tooling and Git‐based version control
* Proven ability to design and maintain automated deployment pipelines
* Hands‐on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes and Red Hat environments
* Experience using Jenkins and/or GitLab
* Strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
It Is Desirable If You Have
* Red Hat or Kubernetes certification
* Experience supporting large‐scale enterprise or government environments
* Application support and production issue resolution experience
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
