**Position purpose**:
The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and timely processing, recording and maintaining of financial transactions and documentation ensuring operations are systematic, compliant effective and efficient, and that data are properly maintained into the relevant financial system of the transactions for the Synod Operation, included but not limited to Synod office and the Uniting Early Learning (UEL) business unit. This position also assists and supports the Business & Processing Specialist in satisfying the needs of both internal and external customers/stakeholders.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Process financial transactions and documentations for the Uniting Church selected vendors and UEEL within the financial accounting and system accurately and on time adhering to relevant delegation of authority, internal policy, standards and guidelines, and upon the direction of the Senior Business & Processing Coordinator.
- Ensures valid, complete and relevant documentation exists and maintained for all transactions to meet management and audit requirements.
- Manage and process the entire Accounts Receivable System
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of relevant processes and control system.
- Utilise a standardised form of processing and reporting across the Finance group.
- Manage and maintain files, records and reports according to instructions or prescribed procedures or approved/ongoing methodology.
- Respond promptly to transactions queries using both verbal and written communication.
- Process and reconcile corporate credit card statements ensuring correct supporting documentation is attached.
- Backup to the Finpower treasury system processes and Fringe checking and processing
- Upload stipend journals monthly into Business central
- Process Standing payments monthly
- Maintain all files and records for standing payments
- Ensure valid, complete and relevant documentation exists and maintained for all Fringe claims that meet audit requirements
- Process twice weekly reimbursements for all ministers Fringe claims
- Approve all Fringe claims that meet management and audit requirements
- Training new ministers in webexpenses.
- Working with payroll in new minister compliance and set up.
- Send monthly statements to ministers.
- Respond promptly to all minister queries using both verbal and written communication.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of all culture elements and values. Embody and continually demonstrate the value-based behaviours by setting a clear clean and consistent example for others_._
- Model the values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod in day to day work including interactions with managers, lay staff, ministry agents, clients and stakeholders.
- Compliance with Queensland Synod policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Comply with Health and Safety directions and Public Health directions.
- Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.

- Complete the weekly payment run on a timely basics
- Comply with delegations of the Office of Synod where delegations have been permanently or temporarily assigned to the position.
- Maintain alignment with the Office of Synod purpose, culture and values (values referenced under additional requirements).
**Reporting relationship and delegations**:
- This position reports to: Manager - Reporting Accountant
Qualifications:
- Certificate 3 in Business Administration (desirable)
Experience and skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, numeracy skills and ability to analyse financial documentation relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
- Knowledge with controls and reporting from a corporate background advantageous
- Strong team orientation and a willingness to contribute to a positive working environment
- Demonstrated experience in the management and use of financial systems including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise workloads with excellent time management.
