You will also be working closely with all members of the Occupations and Access Team to meet the project’s objectives. However, it also will involve travel to various construction sites to ensure that project deliverables are achieved.Project DescriptionInland Rail is transforming how goods are moved around Australia, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. This 1,700km fast freight backbone will complete our national freight network – better connecting producers to markets and creating new opportunities for regional businesses, industries and communities.The Beveridge to Albury (B2A) project is the Victorian portion of the program undertaken along approximately 305 kms of existing northeast rail corridor between Beveridge and Albury. B2A is staged in two tranches. Tranche 1 includes enhancement works across four sites and corridor wide works.Tranche 2 works will be delivered by John Holland and includes adjustment of track alignments, the provision of new road overbridges and station modifications to enable the safe operation of double-stack freight trains across eight B2A project sites between Wandong and Benalla.Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;Conducting/Certifying a Rail Safety Worksite Hazard Assessment and Worksite Protection Plans to determine the appropriate protection requirements for specific project scope.Formulating, reviewing and where required, delivering Project Rail Safety Pre-Work BriefingsLiaising with the Rail Disruption Team and all other stakeholders to ensure that Occupations are planned, and executed in accordance with the Project requirementsAttending Planning & Occupation Co-ordination Meetings associated with both disruptive and non-disruptive EventsEnsuring that all worksite protection personnel have current certificates of competency and are in possession thereofEnsuring that all worksite personnel have the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and that the entire worksite is under surveillance and supervision.Complete infield Rail Safety Reports / InspectionsContribute and support the ongoing improvement and/or development of the project processes, policies and procedures and related to Access, Occupations and Track ProtectionAttend site and evaluate/identify potential Positions of Safety for the placement of worksite protection staff for proposed worksTrack, audit and report on Safe working Resource usageAssist in the management of an effective interface with the Track Protection team and other key stakeholders, both prior to and during planned Occupation eventsCoordinate and plan Safeworking Resources onsiteAssist and support Rail Safety incidents / investigationsTo be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;Possess extensive Operational & Track Protection experience, including supervision in complex and multi- discipline environmentsARTC and V/Line Track Force Protection Coordinator (TFPC) level 3.2 qualifications and above (preferred)Ability to operate and make effective decisions within a live safety critical environmentLead, manage, motivate, mentor and develop othersMaintain a professional approach with all personnel across all levels and foster a team orientated cultureEngage and influence both internal and external stakeholdersStrong understanding of construction methodologies and assessing Risk SFAIRPExcellent organisational and problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detailPrioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and stakeholders.Victorian Driver’s LicenseCertificate IV in Rail Safety Investigation (desirable)Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (desirable)Track vehicle Operator (TVO) (desirable)As part of the team, you can help us transform lives.Your success is reflected in ours, so we’re committed to being an employer of choice.
