Reporting to our Wintel Infrastructure Manager we have a permanent opportunity for a SQL DBA to join our team. You'll be responsible for the support and maintenance of Bupa's Microsoft SQL estate, bring your strong MS SQL skills to the role. You will also need to want to cross skill in other database technologies, particularly within Azure.
You'll be accountable for ongoing management of all production and non-production databases and database environments across the ANZ Market Unit, both on premise and cloud instances of databases. Perform standard DBA activities including performance tuning, upgrades, patching, lifecycle, data migrations and maintenance of documentation. Providing SME technical support, design services, and consultation relating to infrastructure, architecture, access control, data movement, ETL, and synchronisation related activities and services.
**To be successful in this role you'll need**:
- Industry based certifications relating to the Microsoft SQL Azure database and related technologies stacks
- 3-5 years industry experience in a similar role
- Experience with Microsoft Bicep and/or Terraform deploying Azure services or equivalent cloud
- Experience in CICD practices and Microsoft Azure Devops
- Deploy and maintain all database software to internal standards
- Maintain all security patch levels in compliance with Bupa SLA's
- Perform development environment refreshes
- Carry out DR testing for databases including maintaining technical recovery process documentation
- Monitor and manage backups of critical databases including periodic test restorations
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues on production
- Continuous service improvement of the Database environments through activities such as automation and orchestration.
