The Team: Department of Health - Finance Operations
Finance Operations is based within Finance and Business Support and provides the primary support mechanisms and processing of Agency cash-based transactions. The area encompasses Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions with services being provided across the Department of Health (DoH).
The Role
The Finance Services Assistant undertakes administrative, transactional and reconciliation processes for the Agency, in accordance with relevant service standards, legislation and Departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Maintain financial records and transactions in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
* Check the accuracy of data and information, identify discrepancies, and apply correct changes, calculations and/or codes.
* Liaise with a broad range of staff and clients on administrative account issues and provide information and instruction to support financial administration processes.
* Raise and receipt Accounts Receivable transactions in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
* Assist in debt follow up activities including updating information within the finance system and communicating with debtors, collection agencies and investigate non-payments and payment disputes, in collaboration with the Finance Services Officer and/or Team Leader, as requested.
Selection and Appointment
Details of appointment: Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours not withstanding, to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $66,049 to $70,993 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
