Nuclear Medicine Technologist Dubbo Health Service
About the role
A unique opportunity to join a small, highly skilled team of Nuclear Medicine Technologists working within a rural cancer centre and radiation oncology department.
The PET clinical service including FDG PET and PSMA scanning will commence July.
In a fast-paced environment, you will problem-solve and adapt as required.
You will provide rural patients with access to PET-CT, reducing the need for long travel.
A typical workday begins with performing checks and QC of the Hot Lab and scanner, followed by a patient safety huddle.
You will explain procedures to patients, obtain clinical histories for the reporting physician off-site, inject and scan PET patients on a Biograph MCT, perform reconstructions, review images with the reporting physician, order doses, and retrieve relevant images for following days' scans.
You will work closely with other NMTs, administrative staff, nursing, the Deputy Chief Radiation Therapist, other Radiation Therapists and Cancer Centre staff.
