The Water Planning Science Directorate is seeking a passionate and motivated Senior Business Support Officer to provide advice to the Director and Science Leaders on financial, budget and contract management; procurement and administrative activities to support WPS staff; project tasks; supervision and training of two admin staff. You will provide support to the four teams that make up the Water Planning Science Business Unit (65 staff) who deliver research, modelling and decision support tools to support water plans developed under the Water Act 2000 (QLD).

Your Contribution As a Senior Business Support Officer
* Advise the Director and Science Leaders on financial management, including budget allocation, reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
* Monitor expenditure and performance against budgets, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with financial standards.
* Apply knowledge of financial and HR legislation to review and improve administrative and business systems.
* Identify and address issues impacting work objectives.
* Undertake procurement activities and manage projects effectively, ensuring timely completion through planning, problem-solving, and resolution skills.
* Supervise and train two AO3 staff members.
