Senior Speech Language Pathologist, Clinical - Talent Pool
Join the Queensland Government’s Department of Education Therapies and Nursing Services team as a Senior Speech Language Pathologist (Clinical). This role is part of a recruitment pool that will fill permanent and temporary vacancies for any region in Queensland.
About the Role
As a Senior Speech Language Pathologist, you will:
- Support speech and language pathologists to apply evidence‑based practices, improving student outcomes regionally and statewide.
- Provide skilled leadership and expert advice in specialised school‑based speech language pathology.
- Train and support other state schools’ speech language pathologists to build capacity and ensure best practice in service delivery.
- Lead the identification of appropriate responses and interventions to support curriculum delivery for students with speech, language and communication difficulties.
- Offer authoritative expert advice across the department on specific or specialised clinical areas of speech language therapy.
- Lead and conduct specialised projects and innovative research activities to continuously improve speech language therapy services within schools.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration networks with school and regional team members, facilitating knowledge and resource sharing.
- Keep current with high‑level knowledge and skills relevant to the department and the provision of speech language pathology services in education.
Qualifications and Experience
- Very high level of knowledge of speech language pathology services in an educational context.
- Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams regionally and statewide.
- Knowledge of coaching models, capability development and principles of adult learning.
