An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Geologist to join our team at the foundational phase of this innovative new project. This role will be based in Charters Towers, North Queensland and reports to the Senior Geologist and Operations Manager.About the roleThe Project Geologist will play a pivotal role in open pit mining and grade control planning across the company’s tenement portfolio at Charters Towers. This position would suit someone with sound experience in open pit mining.The Project Geologist will manage all aspects of mine geology on a day to day and supply geological support to mining operations. They will be a pro-active safety leader that and ensure that department is meeting safety KPI’s. This position will deputise for the Senior Mine Geologist. The successful applicant will have experience in collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement, key relationships include mining operations and processing.Key Responsibilities:Be a safety leader and promote and support other staff in realising a proactive safety culture.Technical support for day-to-day mining and processing operations.Develop and optimise grade control models.Design and execute grade control and resource definition drill programs.Help manage the day-to-day workings of geology staff, both contract and permanent.Ensure all geological tasks are covered by safe work procedures and compliance to standards and process.Develop work technical programs that add value to operations and measure results.Participate in budget process.Assist in the preparation of annual reports & any other statutory reporting requirementsSupervise and coordinate the activities of staff.Collaborate with other departments to address operational challenges proactively.Contribute to cost saving and value adding initiatives.Ensure timely delivery of technical support to various site stakeholders.Participate in mine to mill optimisation process.Ensure process is in place to minimise dilution and maximise recovery and monitor compliance to process.Key Skills:NMR are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Project Mine Geologist. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong skill set in mining who are ready to contribute to optimising the mine geology for NMR’s tenements. You will support integrated planning processes for mining operations, ensuring that defined targets are met.Ability to lead safety initiatives and manage compliance with regulatory requirements.Strong proficiency in a geological software packages, such as Micromine, Deswik, or Datamine.Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Problem-solving mindset with a focus on proactive management.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), block modelling, advanced grade estimation techniques, and reconciliation.Qualifications and Experience:Tertiary qualification in Geology.5-10 years of experience in open pit mining operations, with gold experience advantageous.Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency.Hold a current Australian driver’s licence.Native Mineral Resources Holding Ltd offers competitive remuneration packages, including opportunities for professional development and career progression.
