The Auditing and Reporting specialist works collaboratively across the Compass sites with the broader HSEQ and business team in the delivery of a Compliance Assurance and Reporting function. The Auditing and Reporting Specialist will be responsible for shaping and leading the company's audit strategy and being responsible for identifying and highlighting gaps of inadequate performance at high risk sites, identifying what actions have been taken to address these gaps and the extent by which these actions have been implemented.
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Create a timeline of audit activities to be undertaken against the company's criteria as well as those performed, and track audits undertaken against the schedule and provides the Monthly Service Standards Appraisal to the National Manager - Assurance and Reporting;
- Centrally track all to-dos, requests, and reviews across different types of multiple audits;
- Audit compliance to the Compass Group standards and HSEQ Management System including relevant business requirements consistent with both the National Health and Safety and sector-specific Health and Safety Plans;
- Audit compliance to the food safety programme and procedures by the business unit and potentially other inputs such as at the Third Party Vendor level to eliminate breaches of the food safety programme and to reduce the business Food Safety Incident Rate (FSIR) accordingly;
- Monitor the status of all audits being performed and easily track outstanding work that needs to be reviewed, executed and completed/signed off;
- Establishes the external audit schedule by liaising with BSI and the operational locations to define which site's operations are to be audited against the ISO 90001, 45001 and 14001 Quality, Health and Safety and Environment standard requirements;
- Co-ordinates the annual Support (Head) Office QSE audit by BSI at the respective Support Office on a rotational basis;
- Complete Service Standards Appraisal; SSA at scheduled sites. This will involve travel to sites on a regular basis. Evaluate compliance with Acts, Policies and Procedures. Review reliability and integrity of data and information. Ensure risk management, control and governance processes are appropriately maintained;
- Ensures that Action Plans associated with all audits undertaken are entered into CHESS and tracks the progress and close out of BSI QSE audits and audits undertaken on our Vendor's food safety systems and operations;
- Updates an 'internally' referenced excel "Open Sites Register' with support from other key stakeholders; and
- Coach operations managers, and line leaders in safety legislation and opportunities for improvement to drive safe operations owned by operational leaders;
- Support and maintain company certification to Australian and International standards in accordance with the external HSEQ audit programme;
- Work constructively within the HSEQ community to accelerate sharing of learnings and solutions, including meeting regularly with other members of the HSEQ team to calibrate Audit findings, actions, identify underlying trends and provide oversight of and drive close out action status;
- Train others in HSEQ rules, regulations and best practices by conducting training within the sector in the company agreed training course including Safety Essentials (SE) and any other approved training courses as are available from time to time;
- Coach the relevant business teams and, in particular unit managers and operations managers to consistently and constantly demonstrate the required behaviours as described in the company's behavioural based safety framework "Our Safety Culture" in order to drive excellence in health and safety performance;
- Review performance of the business against procedures for sustainability management across the sectors that are closely aligned with the company's accredited Environmental Management System (EMS) including regulatory review, implementation of environmental reporting and recording and the environmental solutions including but not limited to recycling programme, energy conservation, minimising of food waste, water use and other environmentally 'best practice' solutions as required
**The Person**:
- Bachelor's degree qualified in Health, Safety or Environment and or equivalent level of study and transferable skill sets;
- Formal Audit qualifications - highly desirable;
- Minimum of 7 years proven work record with written references to show levels of expertise and experience in the field of internal Auditing;
- Demonstrated experience in using audit tools that underpin the monitoring HSEQ programmes in a multi-service and multi sector environment;
- Experience in the use of risk management s
